'Thank You' at Ooh La La

Good Morning crafters. Over at Ooh La La  Janice has chosen the theme 'Thank You'. After the holiday season of gift exchanges I always seem to be sending thank yous.....mainly for the beautiful cards I've received....not so many gifts for me at my age!! So this theme seems very appropriate.
Our challenge last time was chosen by Jane, 'For Man or Boy' and her Top Three are on the OLL challenge blog now (link in sidebar).
For you inspiration this time I have chosen the CD 'Fleur D'Imagination' to play with. There are lots are very pretty floral images on this CD and choosing one is so difficult. You can purchase from the OLL online store here .ooh-la-la-creations. You will also find some lovely freebies in the shop too. Enjoy browsing!!

The card is a new shape for me shown to us by one of crafters at my craft group. It uses the 'banner' shape and I thought no way will it stand up but it does no bother at all. I used 300gsm card stock to make the main card and covered it with a delicate lilac card from my stock. The a layer of white card stock which I'd embossed with the dotty folder was placed over this. I then diecut an oval in the same lilac card, again embossed with the dots, and diecut a smaller oval over the image from the CD and layered them. After placing it centrally on the card I added a 'Thank You' greeting and two card candies in matching lilac. Et Voila!!

I hope I've inspired you to join the challenge and perhaps to use a different shape like I have done. I am always on the look out for new shapes so I hope I'm going to be inspired by you and I'll be visiting you to say a big 'THANK YOU'!!

Have fun!

'Do What You Love' at CD Sunday

Good Morning crafters. It's time forpour new challenge at CD Sunday. The theme has been chosen by Pamela and it's something I know you are all going to enjoy as she wants you to create something, using either a technique you love or something you love.....so really anything goes. Don't forget there is always a yummy prize to be won but to be in with a chance of winning you must use something from a CD , however small. You can show us your creations without using a CD but you won't be considered for a prize but we'll still visit and send you some love!!

The winners of the challenge set by Pauline, 'Something New' .......are up on the challenge blog now ( link in sidebar). We had great fun visiting you all and your creations were inspiring!! This was a difficult task for Pauline but she has finally decided on her Top Three.

Here is my inspiration for this time.

Those who follow my blog know that I love making cards that are different shapes and that I love playing with boxes. So I thought what I great idea to combine the two and make an exploding box card!!

The CD I used was the Be Bunni 'Love Collection' by Cupcake Crafting and a section included this lovely wedding exploding box! It was simple to put together the main box and layers. I then decided to create a wedding cake for the centre by making two square boxes from white card stock. I wrapped narrow white ribbon around each one and then added tiny flat backed pearls. I did the same with the box lid. Then I found a cream rose in my stash. I thought white may be better but I didn't have one that was suitable. I draped some narrow white ribbon over the top box and secured it with the rose. Finally I added flat backed pearls to the ribbon. The 'wedding cake' was placed on a piece of silver card stock and adhered to the base. There were some tags in the set too but I didn't use them.....wasn't sure where to put them as they are larger than the side panels. I may add a greeting to them and place them loose in the box....decisions, decisions!!

I hope you have fun with this challenge and I look forward too seeing what you love!!!
Have a great week and I'll be visiting you shortly.

'Valentines' with the Dragonflies

Crafting with the Dragonflies is back after our seasonal break. We hope you all had a great festive season and are ready to enjoy crafting again. As usual the challenge is a card only fun challenge. Hilde has chosen the theme 'Valentines' which is very appropriate as it will be Valentines Day on the 14th of February. So this is a chance to get those Valentine cards made.
Here is my inspiration for you.

I was asked to make a Valentines card for a friend for his wife who loves dogs. I found this image and greeting in my stash.....not sure where it is from originally sorry. I used A4 red card stock as the base and matted and layered the image on to gold mirri card. The border strip is a die which I cut from the same gold card, as was the gold die cut heart. Finally I added a hand tied red ribbon bow.

I hope you pop over to Crafting with Dragonflies (link in sidebar) to see what the rest of the team have created. I look forward to visiting your blogs soon.

Have fun!!!

#220 'For Man or Boy'

It's time for another challenge at Ooh La La. This time Jane has chosen 'For Man or Boy' . So another Male card challenge for you....seems to be a few challenges around with this theme at the moment.
Here is my inspiration for you.

I have used the 'Shawn Jenkins Collection' CD from Ooh La La for this landscape card. The image is taken from the quick card section and I printed off some matching background paper and added it to some white card stock. The ribbon strip down the side and the greeting are also from OLL cds.
For more inspiration pop over to OLL challenge  (link in sidebar) and see what the rest of the design team have created.

There's always a prize on offer for this challenge.....2 digi downloads from the  ooh-la-la-creations shop. There are some freebies on this site too so worth a visit.

Have fun and I look forward to visiting you soon.

'Make it Male'

Time for a new challenge at CD Sunday and this time it has ben chosen by our lovely Carol. We had lots of entries last time for Pauline's 'Something New'.... I think you liked that one! The Top Three for the  challenge 'T'was the Night Before Christmas' is also on the challenge blog so click on the link in the sidebar and see if you're a winner!!

This is my inspiration for you for this challenge.

The image and background paper and sentiment are all from the CD ' The Wrinklies' by La Pashe. There's some fun images on this CD and I was spoilt for choice.

A very easy card to make. I printed off the decoupage sheet which included the background paper and sentiment. I used white card stock to make a basic square card.  I decided not to decoupage the image then it would be flat for posting. Finally adding a peel off greeting. Eh voila!!

I hope you'll be inspired to join in the challenge. Male cards are always a real challenge for me but lately I seem to have been making many.....lots of 70th birthdays amongst our expat male friends recently.

Have fun!!!

Ooh La La it's 'Feminine'

Good Morning crafters. Can you believe it's 2017 already!!! Where did last year go!!

Starting off our challenges at Ooh La La for 2017 is our lovely teamie Debbie. She has chosen a theme that we all love 'Feminine'. So here's your chance to show us all those girly cards that you love to create.

My inspiration for you comes from the Ooh La La CD 'Fleur D'Imagination'.

I printed off the image from the 'Quick Cards' section. This gave me a start for the layout. I folded some white A4 card stock landscape orientation and covered it with the weaved sunflower background paper. I then added the image/layout to the centre. I looked for a sunflower in my stash.....which I know I have somewhere!!! But it's always the same you can never put your hands on something when you need it. So I improvised with a padded yellow silk star and added a paper yellow rose on top. I think it worked. The colour is correct anyway!! I have left it blank at the moment and will add a sentiment when I decide what occasion I will use it for.

For more inspiration please pop over to Ooh La La  (link in side bar) and if you would like to purchase any of the CDs here is the link to the Ooh La La online shop ooh-la-la-creations You will find all the CDs on there plus some freebies that Wendi and Emma have kindly chosen for you to enjoy.

Have fun crafting those 'Feminine' cards and I look forward to visiting you very soon.

Happy New Year!!

Good Morning everyone. I hope you are all enjoying the Festive Season and had a lovely Christmas and celebrated the coming of 2017 in style!!!

It's been a wet Christmas and New Year here in Cyprus. I can honestly say in 15 years this is the wettest and coldest Christmas we have had. Brrrrr!!!! I don't do cold!!

We have had a great time in spite of the weather and I am fully charged up ready to craft again.

At CD Sunday Pauline has appropriately chosen as the theme to start off the year as ' Something New'. So plenty of scope for all things 'New' such as babies, homes etc. I went for something new that I'd not used before from my stash of craft CDs.

Here is my inspiration for you.

The CD is from Crafters Companion, the 'Bebunni Love Collection'. I printed the card from the section' Shaped Cards'. After fussy cutting around the cute bunny it was almost completed. I found a 'LOVE' sentiment in my stash of odd bits and Voila!!. How simple was this to make!! I may add a bit of bling to the heart on reflection but for a simple make I think it looks effective as it is. I'll add this to my Valentines stock for the shop. So I'm off to a great start for the year!!

I hope I've inspired you and I'm sure you'll have many 'New' ideas of your own. For further inspiration pop over to CD Sunday (link in sidebar) to se what the rest of the team have been creating.

Have fun and I look for ward to visiting you soon and seeing what you got up to over the Festive Season.
